Hello everyone,

In an academic context, it is important to recognize that the definition of Nursing has evolved. We are not just facilitators but also decision-makers.

The Transition

Nightingale: Focus on changing the environment and providing basic care.

Henderson: Focus on the needs of the patient and compensate for their deficiencies.

ICN/ANA: Emphasizes autonomy, ethics, research, and leadership in providing comprehensive care for individuals and communities.

Today, Nursing is defined as a profession that requires specialized knowledge Retro Bowl 26 and clinical skills to make judgments and interventions.

Discussion Question:

In your opinion, what factors (e.g., technology, pandemic, or social change) have had the greatest impact on changing the definition and expanding the scope of practice of Nursing over the past 10 years?

Thank you, and looking forward to your feedback!
